Staff Spotlight - Mrs. Franklin

Staff Spotlight - Mrs. Franklin
Posted on 09/26/2018
Mrs. FranklinHere at Bloomfield, we love to get to know our students on a personal level - what they like and dislike and what inspires them.  Unfortunately, you don't always have an opportunity to get to know those people who are the very heartbeat of our school - our staff.  We are beginning a Staff Spotlight Series.  Each week we will highlight another staff member so you can learn just a little bit more about us.  Check back each week for a new article!

Mrs. Meghan Franklin

What is your educational background?

I graduated from North Daviess and got my English teaching degree from Indiana State University.

What is your job, or what classes do you teach?

I teach English 10, English 7, 7th grade Reading and Literature rotation, and English 7 Honors.

Tell us about your family.

I am married and have a baby on the way. We enjoy going out to eat or going to the movies on our weekends. In the evenings, we love to just relax and watch T.V. together. My dad coaches the high school girls' team here.

What are your interests outside of school?

I love coaching the high school girls' basketball team, going to the movies, and spending time with my family and friends.

What profession, other than your own, would you most like to attempt?

I would love to be a writer.

What is your favorite quote?

"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."  -Oscar Wilde

If you were to give one piece of advice to our students, what would it be?

Have a good time in high school. Choose to not be serious and lighten up. Dress up on spirit days; interact with your friends in class. Have school pride; it makes your time here enjoyable. Focus on your studies, but make time for your friends. This is the time of your life to make mistakes and figure out who you are. You do not get this back so make the most of it. Pretty soon all you will have are the memories.
